Block Storage

Block Storage

Block storage is a storage arrangement in which every volume acts as an isolated hard drive, arranged by the storage administrator. Data is stored in fixed-size blocks. An exclusive address serves as the metadata defining each block. There is an exclusive software program, separated from storage media, which wheels how blocks are allotted and organized on disk. The software also grips retrieval, using addresses to identify the required blocks and collect them into files needed by the user.
